HHS Secy. Azar: U.S. should have enough vaccine doses for every American by March 2021

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar gave an update on Operation Warp Speed this week. During Thursday’s virtual health care forum, he announced the U.S. should have 100 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine by the end of this year.
According to Azar, this will be enough to help vulnerable populations. He explained the U.S. is currently working on producing all six potential vaccines across more than 23 manufacturing facilities.
Under the direction of the President, he reaffirmed there could be enough doses for every American by March or April of 2021.
“This past spring, when we presented the likely timelines for vaccines and therapeutics to the President, he said, ‘Not good enough, figure out how you can do it faster,’” stated Azar. “So, that’s what we did.”
He went on to say the Trump administration is also working to ensure the mass production of vials and syringes, with over 1 billion under procurement.
