COVID CRAZINESS: Cops Patrol Pubs And ‘Throw Out Customers Without A Substantial Meal’

In a clear indication of the kind of country that the Government’s Covid regulations are creating, it is now being reported by pub landlords that police are ‘patrolling pubs’ and arguing with and throwing out customers who don’t have what they call a ‘substantial meal’ in front of them.

Reportedly, police are arguing over whether a Scotch Egg constitutes a substantial meal. Some landlords seized on comments made by the Chancellor of Duchy of Lancaster, Michael Gove, who said that it did constitute a substantial meal, though he personally considered it a starter,  to serve customers with one and allow them alcohol too.

Other Tory MP’s have called the rule “ridiculous” and “unworkable”. Peterborough’s Paul Bristow pointed out that the virus is “no less deadly with a bowl of chips in front of you”:

Police however clearly have their own ideas. Frustrated pub companies are taking matters into their own hands and:

“fighting back, telling managers to film police officers where necessary and show letters from solicitors but have told those in charge of pubs to make sure scotch eggs are served with chips/salad.”

The Government’s Covid-Craziness looks set to continue well into the Christmas season……
